    Match-Up: BP-GRC vs. 'Gaswerks'
    Title: Good eye

    Body:
Before I get into too much detail regarding last week's game, let me put some perspective around our match.
--> The BP-GRC cowboys pride themselves on learning from their previous experiences. In the words of Vernon Law (Pitcher, Pittsburgh Pirates), "Experience is a hard teacher because she gives us the test first, the lesson afterwards." Using this as a guiding principle the BP-GRC:
** Identified the power hitters and didn't give up a home-run
** Knew to look out for the first baseman
** Identified that the pitcher was 'suspect'

--> To level the playing field, let me define 'suspect': Suspect (n) - 1) one who is suspected; 2) Pitcher in baseball and/or softball who wears black spandex pants with black knee high socks in 90 degree weather. This individual may sometimes show dramatic mood swings and does not exhibit control or understanding of the strike zone.
** The definition of suspect that best identifies our opponent is definition #2.
** Coach told us that it was ok to walk in softball.

--> Fan support is on the rise. Record attendance was recorded for this game, which provided support and inspiration for our beloved team. Special thanks to the McNamara family and the friends and family of 'Denglish' and 'Tranquilli'

--> The BP-GRC were at full force with the exception of Shannon 'Mc D' McDermont (looking forward to seeing you next game, Mc D)
** Dan 'Denglish' English hitting from the 'five spot' hit a ball that hasn't landed yet (In non-softball terms, he hit a home-run). (See bullet point above regarding fan support)
** Katie 'Wronger' Chain blasted a ball over the head of the left fielder for a stand-up double and several RBI's
** Trisha 'Tarsh' Kaiglin got on base during all three of her trips to the plate and manned the catcher position with flawless execution.

For the inning by inning recap:
--> We hit good and 'Gaswerks' had difficulty making contact with the ball.
--> Our pitcher pitched strikes and when we were ahead, looked to the bullpen to prepare 'Denglish' for his next start at pitcher. Gaswerk's pitcher threw too many balls out of the strike zone, got flustered, threw down his mitt and made the call to the bullpen. The relieving pitcher gave up 6 walks.
--> We had clutch hits by, 'Tarsh', 'Tranq' 'Wronger' and 'Huss'. Gaswerks does not have 'Tarsh', 'Tranq', 'Wronger' or 'Huss' on their team.

To wrap it up, BP-GRC completed their second 'run-rule' of the season with a score of 17-4 after four innings.

    Conclusion:
In a game of such wide margins, it is sometimes difficult to identify the individuals that stand up among all others. Luckily for the BP-GRC, this was not the case as two teammates excelled on both the offensive and defensive sides of the plate. The first individual played solid at third base and once again used her bat to show us what it takes to be an alumni for the Ohio State Buckeyes women's softball team. Great job Katie 'Wronger' Chain. The second athlete made it on base each time she was at the plate and hustled around the bases with both speed and determination. By giving the extra 110% Gaswerks made several error s, which lead to several additional runs for BP-GRC. Keep up the solid play and hustle Trisha 'Tarsh' Kaighlin.
