Game 9: Team Hell

VICTORY!!!

Game 9 Score: Team Hell 5, Byrne's Pub 9

Game Summary :
For the die-hard Byrne's Pub Goat Rodeo Cowboy's fans, this was the night they had been waiting for all year; the night where their beloved team would pull together some offense and finally win a recreational softball game!! Despite a scary pregame, in which one of our players succumbed to Cheetoh deficiency and was unable to participate, spirits (and beers) were flying high.

Play ball was yelled, and the very confident BPGRCs team took to the field. Immediately it seemed as though it was impossible not to have fun as the umpire screamed and danced and gyrated with each call. The levity of the moment helped the BPGRCs quickly deal with the opponent in a very neat three up three down inning. Thinking almost nothing could boost their confidence any higher, the team took up the bats only to firmly rest them on their shoulders and watch as Team Hell struggled through two innings and 7 walks. After racking up a solid 8 run lead, the jovial side of the BPGRC's that had not been seen for weeks finally made an appearance and it was a beautiful sight. Players were laughing, boozers were boozing, ju-jitsuer’s were ju-jitsuing and thoughts turned to prom as the BPGRCs very happily added a greatly needed second win to their record.

As the team reflected on their win they became existential about recreation softball and they identified two truths that night. A force out is only a force out until it's not and more importantly softball is always more fun when you're having fun (well, really they learned that it's WAY more fun to play an opponent much closer to their skill level...)
So look out fans! With another win under their belt and a new outlook on the game, this could be the start of something GREAT!!

Game Summary :
In an amazing coincidence, a famous late show TV host's cousin, Dove Batterman, was at the fields last night to watch the Byrne's Pub Goat Rodeo Cowboys take on Varsity Club KB. And after witnessing such an amazingly awful display of softball he came up with one of those infamous top ten lists about our beloved team.

..... drum roll....

Top Ten Things I learned From the Byrne's Pub Goat Rodeo Cowboys
10. No matter what the order, the BPGRCs can't bat.
9. Tranq is an injury soothsayer.
8. Even if the outfielders play on the opposite field's infield, VCKB will find a way to hit it over their head.
7. It's just not a game until Softball Dan re-injures his scab.
6. Taking the first strike causes heated arguments.
5. Nobody wants to see Slavenator's cup.
4. The only activity that the BPGRCs excel at in over 90 degree heat is drinking.
3. Pizza duty really means figuring out how many forms of pork you can get on one pizza. (bacon, pepperoni, ham...)
2. NBA games take waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.
And the number one thing Dove Batterman learned from the Goat Rodeo Cowboys.... the ladies LOVE Thriller.
